Dr Serena Keating

Dr Serena Keating

Dr Keating graduated from the University of Queensland and spent 4 years working for Queensland Health in a number of rural and remote areas. Serena is experienced in all areas of general practice. Serena has a special interest in cosmetic medicine and skin cancer checks and surgery and has also recently been approved by CASA to perform Aviation Medicals.  Serena has 2 small children and understands the pressures on working mothers.

Appointments with Dr Keating are available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and most Sunday’s.

Dr Garry Hartrick

Dr Hartrick is a graduate from Melbourne University and has over thirty years experience in medicine. Garry moved to Cairns in 1984 and has an interest in heart care and rehabilitation after heart attack. Garry performs skin cancer surgery and stitching wounds. He enjoys care for the elderly, men’s health and pregnancy care.

Appointments with Dr Hartrick are available Monday through to Friday.

DR SUSAN MCDONALD

Dr Susan McDonald

Dr McDonald graduated from Sydney University in 1975 and has since then worked in rural and urban areas.  Sue has also worked in Jeddah Saudi Arabia and is familiar with Islamic cultures.  Sue is particularly interested in aged care, menopause problems, pregnancy care and children.  Sue has a Masters degree in General Practice from Monash University and is an examiner for the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of GP’s.

Appointments with Dr McDonald are available Monday through to Thursday, and every second Friday.

Dr Sean Sullivan

Dr Sullivan graduated from James Cook University in Townsville and has spent several years in rural and remote areas.  He has lived in Cairns for nearly 10 years.  He has special interest in men’s health, paediatrics, chronic disease and sexual health.

Appointments with Dr Sullivan are available Monday through to Thursday.

Dr Mar Mar Thi

Dr Mar Mar Thi

Dr Thi graduated from Myanmar in 2004 and was trained as a GP in Australia. She obtained her fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General practitioners in 2014.  She worked as a hospital doctor for 3 years before she joined the General Practice training and has been a GP for 8 years in rural and suburban Victoria.  Her aim is to provide a comprehensive general practice services to the community and her special interests are women’s health, pediatrics, chronic disease management and preventative medicine.

Appointments with Dr Thi are available Wednesday through to Friday.

Dr Lucy Jirasek

Dr Jirasek completed her medical training at James Cook University. She has spent 3 years working in rural and regional hospitals throughout Queensland. She is currently completing extra studies to become a specialist General Practitioner. She is interested in all areas of family medicine.

Appointments with Dr Jirasek are available Monday through to Friday.

Dr Matthew Warburton

FAMILY DOCTOR AND GP WITH SPECIAL INTEREST IN DERMATOLOGY (SKIN)
Dr Warburton has over 20 years of medical experience, graduating from the University of Birmingham (UK) in 2001, he became a fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2007. He moved to Australia the next year, gaining fellowship in the Australian College of General Practitioners as well, before moving up to Cairns in 2010 where he has provided GP services to the Woree and Earlville area. As well as being an experienced GP, in the last 12 months he has developed a great interest in skin cancer medicine and dermatology. He has certificates in Skin Cancer Medicine and Dermoscopy, an Advanced Certificate in Skin Cancer Surgery and he is currently studying for his Master of Medicine (Skin Cancer) with the University of Queensland.

Appointments with Dr Warburton are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s.

Mrs Karen Warburton - Nurse Practitioner

Karen graduated from the University of Wolverhampton (UK) in 1999 and worked for 5 years as a registered nurse in a hospital setting. She moved to Australia in 2008 and worked as a Chronic Disease Nurse in rural Victoria, and later in Cairns from 2010, whilst studying a Master of Nursing at Flinders University in Adelaide. In 2013 she graduated as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) and has worked in general practice since then. As a nurse practitioner Karen can investigate, diagnose, treat and manage most conditions and works collaboratively and effectively alongside medical practitioners at Abbott Medical Clinic. As a primary care NP, she has a wide scope of practice (her skills, knowledge and abilities) but her passion and emphasis remain in chronic disease and diabetes.
